ERPNext inventory covers multi-warehouse, batch and serial tracking, reorder alerts, stock reconciliation, quality inspection and full inventory accounting. The key advantage over standalone inventory tools is integration: every stock movement auto-posts to the general ledger and updates purchase and sales documents in the same system. No export-import between systems required.
Yes. ERPNext supports batch tracking with batch number, manufacturing date and expiry date per batch. FEFO (First Expiry First Out) can be configured per item — when enabled, the earliest-expiring batch is suggested at issue and delivery. Batch details appear on every Delivery Note and invoice. Full traceability from supplier batch to customer delivery in seconds.
Each branch is set up as a separate warehouse in ERPNext. Warehouses are organised in a tree structure — branches as child nodes, company as the parent. Stock transfers between branches are recorded as Material Transfer Stock Entries. Reports show stock per branch or consolidated across all branches. No additional licence per branch or warehouse.
Yes. ERPNext generates e-Way Bills from Delivery Notes and Sales Invoices through the India Compliance app. The e-Way Bill is required for goods movement above ₹50,000. Transporter GSTIN, vehicle number and distance are entered in ERPNext — the EWB is generated via the e-Way Bill portal API and stored against the document. GSTR-1 data is also generated from the same Sales Invoices and Delivery Notes.
Yes. Tally data migration — item masters, opening stock quantities and values — is included free in our Phase 1 implementation. Excel-based stock data is also imported. Opening Stock Reconciliation is done in ERPNext, balanced against the Trial Balance from Tally or your CA's opening balances. We guarantee the Trial Balance reconciles to zero before go-live.
