How is ERPNext different from Tally?
Tally is primarily an accounting tool — excellent for day-to-day bookkeeping and GST. ERPNext is a complete business operating system: it covers accounting plus inventory, manufacturing, HR, payroll, CRM, project management and more. If you're running a business with multiple departments that need to share data in real time, ERPNext is the right step up.
Can you migrate all our Tally data to ERPNext?
Yes — this is one of our most common implementation scenarios. We migrate chart of accounts, opening balances, customer and supplier master data, historical invoices and inventory records from Tally. The data is validated against your Tally trial balance before go-live to ensure zero discrepancy.
Is ERPNext compliant with Indian GST and tax laws?
Yes, fully. ERPNext supports e-invoicing (IRN and QR code), e-way bill generation, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS, TCS, PF and ESI. India-specific compliance is maintained by the Frappe team and updated with every regulatory change. We configure and test all these before go-live.
Where is the data hosted — cloud or on-premise?
Your choice. We offer both cloud hosting (on AWS/DigitalOcean with daily backups and 99.9% uptime SLA) and on-premise deployment on your own servers. Most clients prefer cloud for accessibility and zero maintenance — but highly data-sensitive businesses often prefer on-premise. Both options are fully supported.
What if we need a workflow that ERPNext doesn't support out of the box?
This is common and is handled two ways: (1) ERPNext's no-code customisation tools — custom fields, custom forms and custom scripts — handle about 70% of unique requirements without writing code. (2) For the rest, we build custom Frappe apps that integrate natively with ERPNext. Your data stays in one system regardless.
What does AMC include and how much does it cost?
AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) costs 18% of your implementation fee per year. It covers: monthly ERPNext version upgrades, priority bug fixes (8-hour response SLA), minor customisations (up to 8 hours per month), quarterly review calls and access to our ERPNext helpdesk. Most clients find this invaluable because ERPNext releases major updates every 6 months.
